Toowit – toowoo – It’s the Owlcast folks!

| September 25, 2008

We’ve been writing short stories using only five sentences, which have these parts:

    • opening
    • build-up
    • problem
    • resolution
    • ending

Click the arrow to listen, or right-click the download link to save a copy.

Why not add more 5 sentence wonders in the comments?

    Working in Groups and Teams…

    | September 24, 2008

Thanks for your good thinking about how teams can work really badly together in our last circle time.  This is the mindmap we came up with…

As you’ve probably guessed, the next step is to think about how we can stop these things happening in the first place, or help out when they do happen.

Click here for a PDF file that you can print.  It’s a version of the mindmap that you then continue in pencil or ink.  You’ll get this in class, so this link is here in case you lose or forget it.

    Home Learning – September 19th

    | September 19, 2008

Firstly, welcome to the new blog.  Each week, I’ll put a reminder of the home learning for the week, and any ideas or news that you might find useful.

This week’s home learning is to spend 30 minutes working to find out answers to the questions that you asked last week on the Learning Platform.  Remember to use the normal rules of writing – think about how we’re writing a non-fiction book about Shakespeare and the Tudors – so a more formal style would be most suitable.  Remember to say where you found the information and add some detail and a picture if it helps other people to understand your message.

Don’t forget tutpup – it can really help you speed in mental maths, which will help your scores.

Finally, here’s a brief maths sheet (maths-2) to practice some of the ideas we’ve covered this week.  You might find this fairly easy, which is OK, or a bit tricky – that means there’s more learning to do and you really should come and ask me about it!

    Have a good weekend!
