A little bit of disco!

| January 10, 2009

This is the link to the video we watched to help learn the “bus stop” dance from the 70s.  We’ll do some more work on it next week, but if you want to practise at home, go for it!

If you really get in the mood, why not have a look around and see if you’ve got any clothes that would have looked right in a 70s disco.

Home Learning – January 9th

| January 9, 2009

You’ve all made a good start to the new Learning Journey about Life Since the 50s. I’d like you to start an extended homework, which should take you about three weeks.   You should make sure that you include the memories of a relative or family friend.

Find something that you’re interested in, something that’s changed considerably since 1950.

  • Changes in technology – phones, home appliances,
  • Changes in the UK population
  • Changes in fashion or music
  • Changes in transport – planes trains and automobiles

I’m sure that you get the idea.

Think carefully of the questions that you want to answer in your work.  What might your audience want to know?  What could you ask people in your family about their memories?

Your work could be a folder with pages of writing, typing and pictures. You may want to make a radio-type recording, with pictures to go with it. You could use diagrams, power-point presentations, charts, graphs.

Good luck, and make sure that you talk to me about what you’re doing and how you’re getting on.
