HOW TO HOOK A READER…
We’ve been thinking about how some sentences at the start of stories can really get us interested, or hooked, and want to read more. I’d like you to read the first page of lots of books and write down any sentences that you think are really interesting, and make you want to read on. Try to collect at least 5 of the sentences, and be ready to tell me why you chose them. |
| CHARITY CHOICES As a class, we are choosing a charity that we will raise funds for this year. I’d like you to prepare a speech about a charity that you support. You will make the speech to the class from next Friday onwards. You can use photos, or short films, or powerpoints to help make your point. You can also work in a pair or small group if you want. Good luck, and ask me early in the week if you’re not sure about anything. |

OK, so you can’t actually come to school dressed as a clown.
But you can decide whether to keep funky sock friday or have something different. Please vote on googledocs. You’ll need your username and password, so I can check you don’t vote twice… |
| Well done this week to all of you – you’ve made a good start to the year, and you’ve done some good learning this week.
Here’s the thunk (tricky question) that we were thinking about at the end of the day today: If someone were born in an aeroplane that was flying over Germany, would they be German? Have a think and put your ideas in the comments. |

We’re finding out about how toys have changed over the years, and making and using charts and graphs as well.
We’d like as many people as possible to fill in our survey – grandmas, uncles, mums, dads older friends. |

Well, we’ve made a start at trying to rival Cath Kidston’s designs.
I really like the colours and shapes that you’ve used. These selections are from someone’s sketchbook. You’ve made a good start! |
